Pirastro Passione is a hybrid set; The A and D have a steel core, and the G and C have a gut core. The gut core material is a new concept in string making, because the material is stabilized to improve tuning consistency. Now you can have the best of both worlds; Gut tone complexity with reliable tuning. The A and D are well suited to be used with other G and C strings, when a slightly warmer tone balance is desired.
