not fool serious players. They are serious instruments

flagship model of the Wood Violins line. Mark
Wood himself plays a 7 string fretted Viper.
Viper players often refer to their instrumnets as Vipers,
not Violins, because they are truly in their
own class, especially when fretted.
think of frets on a Violin the same as frets
on a Guitar. On a guitar, the player's fingers
are placed behind the fret, but on a Wood Violins
model, you play on top of the frets. You can
still do vibrato and glissando! It gives players
confidence to know that they will be in tune
on a stage where the ambient volume is high and it is difficult
to hear one's own instrument. The frets make a great visual
aid to play with confidence when you can't hear
your instrument well.
The Viper is also the model that has the patented
harness system, which allows you to hold the
violin without a shoulder rest or chinrest.
Stingray. Same body shape as the standard Stingray,
but made offered with the same range of finishes and other
custom options as the Viper and Sabre.
the most understated look of any Wood Violins model. The Sabre
pays homage to the popular Stratocaster pattern of the electric
guitar world. This instrument is played with traditional chinrest
and shoulder rest, an has traditional pegs too.
redesigned, the Cobra
Cello is a versatile instrument that can be played
with convincing acoustic tone or with loads of
effects. The patented harness system gives Cellist
the ability to stand and move on stage. It also
permits good posture, unlike playing a tradiational
Cobra harness, enabling
mobility like Cellist have never known before.
