Peavey Bandit 112

At the 1995 NAMM show thousands of players, media and dealers crammed into a small demo room inside the Peavey exhibit, one after another, where our engineers set up a blind A/B comparison between their new invention and a real tube amp. No one could tell the difference between the two. Some "golden ears" even thought the TransTube Bandit was the real tube amp. But How? In devising the TransTube Circuitry, our engineers studied every aspect of how a tube amp works. We learned that recreating tube tone isn't merely a question of gain structure. It's about the entire component chain and how each one interacts with the others. It's about damping factor and the corresponding speaker response. It's about power amp compression. How the amp breaks up when driven hard, harmonic structure and non-linear gain stages. It's about cabinet size, bracing, wood and thickness. But most importantly, it's about what it's not. Those other manufacturers' half-hearted attempt at tube emulation failed because they focused on the wrong elements. So we concentrated on emulating the tone characteristics we all recognize and love about tubes and 86'd the rest. It's a deceptively simple concept, but it took three U.S. Patents to map the entire process for the history books. Set up a comparison at your Peavey dealer and discover the TransTube difference for yourself. No marketing hype needed. You won't believe your ears! 100 Watts (rms) into 4 Ohms (w/external speaker) 12" Blue Marvel® speaker High and Low Gain inputs TransTube tube emulation circuitry Footswitchable Clean and Lead channels 3 band passive EQ on each channel 3 position EQ/Gain Voicing switch on each channel Reverb with level control Footswitchable Boost with level control ¼" stereo Speaker Simulated Direct Out jack with level control Footswitch optional 80 Watts (rms) into 8 Ohms Weight Unpacked: 40.00 lb(18.144 kg) Weight Packed: 48.00 lb(21.772 kg) Width Packed: 15.75"(40.005 cm) Height Packed: 28.37"(72.0598 cm) Depth Packed: 23.87"(60.6298 cm)

Peavey Backstage

The Backstage emulates the sound, high output, warmth and "push back" of tube amplifiers and includes features such as high and low EQ controls, a 6 inch heavy-duty speaker, switchable TransTube overdrive, a Aux input for jamming along to your favorite songs and a headphone input for doing so quietly. Guitar Player reviewer Barry Cleveland raves about the tone and value of the Backstage in his March 2004 hands-on product review. "This is easily one of the best-sounding mini amps I've ever heard," he writes. "It delivers a great assortment of tube-like tones and offers excellent dynamic response, all in a pint-sized package and for a very modest price."The key is Peavey's exclusive TransTube technology, which emulates the sound of tube amplifiers without the hassle or cost of dealing with unpredictable tubes. The TransTube preamp tailors the gain level for any amount of drive, from clean to crunch to scream, using a patented approach to emulating 12AX7 tubes and their ability to create even, harmonic distortion. It also mimics the "push back" response of real tube circuitry, which is essential to emulating tube dynamics, distortion and chime. 6 inch custom designed speaker TransTube® preamp with 2 switchable channels Volume and Overdrive controls 2-band EQ Aux input for practice Headphone jack 10 watts (rms) Weight Unpacked: 9.70 lb(4.399 kg) Weight Packed: 11.50 lb(5.216 kg) Width Packed: 9.12"(23.1648 cm) Height Packed: 14.12"(35.8648 cm) Depth Packed: 14"(35.56 cm)

Peavey Robert Randolph Signature Head

The Randolph Signature Steel Amp has a classic Peavey appearance that will be immediately familiar, but is jam-packed with modern features designed with and for Robert Randolph, one of the most recognizable and accomplished steel players of the modern era. This "crossover" amp is a highly roadworthy solid state design with concessions for pedal steel, lap steel, and guitar applications. Meticulously voiced by Robert Randolph over several iterations that evolved from proven Peavey steel amp designs, this 500W stereo beast (250W per side) works equally well for a variety of instruments, per Robert's exacting specifications. The result is an extremely versatile amplifier that is capable of capturing the sounds of Peavey steel guitar amps from years past as well as those of overdriven, vintage "boutique" models that cost tens of thousands of dollars on the secondary market. The head format allows for any number of speaker options for optimal tone possibilities, including the new high-output 212-RR stereo/mono cabinet (which is now a mainstay for Robert) as well as the new 115-N cabinet that retains the classic Peavey steel amp sound, a beloved standard of pedal steel players for nearly 45 years. The included MIDI hand controller clips to any standard microphone stand and can be replaced by any other standard MIDI switching device for maximum flexibility in switching your rig. Featuring pre-EQ loop, separate mono and stereo post-EQ loops, "smart" stereo loop switching, an added boost function, and a studio-quality digital effects section, this may be the last amp that you will ever need.
